ILMF Spotlight – VirtualGrid to Debut VRMesh V7.0 Survey at ILMF 2012 for LiDAR Data Processing

VirtualGrid ( will announce the availability of VRMesh v7.0 Survey at International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) 2012.

Please visit us at Booth 95 (Jan 23rd – 25th, 2012, Denver) to learn about our breakthrough technologies in point cloud classification for airborne and mobile LiDAR.

The key contribution to LiDAR data processing in VRMesh Survey is the capability of automatically classifying point clouds under extreme variations in terrain. It can successfully extract vegetation, buildings, and ground from LiDAR point clouds, no matter the data is gathered from steep slopes covered with dense vegetation or areas where there is very few ground points available. It also has a unique ability to identify hidden man-made structures that are fully covered by canopies.  Meanwhile, the program is easy to use. 99% classification jobs can be automatically done in one click by setting a few simple parameters.

The VRMesh Survey module has taken a significant step forward in the new release. The major enhancements include:

  • It adds the ability to automatically extract building footprints and create 3D building models.
  • It adds several commands to detect and analyze power lines.
  • It enables users to directly create grid surface on point clouds.
  • The shape file format is supported.
  • The capability of importing large data set is enhanced.

In short, VRMesh Survey will enhance the usability of Lidar technology in many areas.

Please stop by Booth 95 at ILMF 2012 for a live demonstration. We are pleased to show you our innovative technologies. We provide stand-alone applications, and also provide customized versions upon customers’ specifications.
