earthmine Announces Widget for ArcGIS Viewer for Flex

Demonstrates Seamless Desktop, Web and Mobile ArcGIS Integration at Esri User Conference

SAN DIEGO, CA ─ July 12, 2011 ─earthmine, inc. today announced the immediate availability of the earthmine Widget for the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex, providing a simple way for earthmine and ArcGIS users to publish their geospatial data and earthmine 3D street level imagery to the web. The earthmine Widget is built with earthmine’s Software Development Kit (SDK) for Flash and delivers an "out of the box", no-programming solution for users with little or no software development expertise.

"Many of our customers are already utilizing the earthmine add-in for ArcMap to populate and update their geodatabases," said John Ristevski, co-CEO of earthmine Inc. "With the immediate availability of our Widget, users have a simple way to publish their spatial data in conjunction with earthmine imagery to the web."

The earthmine Widget joins a growing library of third-party solutions extending the functionality of the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex. The earthmine product includes a variety of features including direct overlay of spatial data from the geodatabase onto earthmine 3D imagery, a comprehensive set of 3D navigation tools and an array of measurement tools for taking real world measurements.

"earthmine’s 3D imagery brings tremendous value to GIS," said Lawrie Jordan, Esri’s Director of Imagery. "The accessibility of the data across web, desktop and mobile platforms makes it particularly interesting to ArcGIS users."

Desktop, Web and Mobile Integration

The earthmine Widget extends the powerful array of integration options with Esri’s ArcGIS suite of products. On the desktop, the earthmine for ArcGIS add-in provides seamless integration with ArcMap, allowing users to directly integrate earthmine’s real world contextual information with their geodatabase and provides efficient workflows for rapidly populating a geodatabase with new features. The earthmine Widget, as well as the earthmine SDK for Flash, provide two flexible options for creating browser-based applications in conjunction with the ArcGIS API for Flex and ArcGIS Viewer for Flex.

At the Esri International User Conference this week, earthmine will also be demonstrating a mobile application for iPhone and iPad built using the earthmine SDK for iPhone and the ArcGIS SDK for iOS. The application demonstrates the ability to stream earthmine 3D imagery to mobile devices, as well as feature layers from an ArcGIS Server, providing rich geospatial data and contextual 3D data while in the field and even in low bandwidth environments. The desktop, web and mobile products will be highlighted at earthmine’s booth (#1418) at the Esri International User Conference at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California from July 12-14.
