411 Publishing Unveils Free Production Resource App for New York

LOS ANGELES–411 Publishing announced today that the New York 411 iPhone app is now available for download. The app is free and found in the app store on iTunes for use on iPhones, iPads, and iTouch devices.

New York 411 is the only qualified production resource directory dedicated to the New York Tri-State area. Users of NY 411 printed directory and online resource guide will find the app provides all the information they have come to rely upon in an intuitive, visually appealing format. Full contact information including address, phone number and website is provided for each listing.

This high-speed app provides a graphical representation of each of New York 411’s twelve production sections, such as Camera and Sound Equipment, Crew, and Sets and Stages. Utilizing Apple’s “multi-touch” technology, the user will be able to swiftly flip through pages and summon category listings with the touch of a finger.

In addition to finding full contact information for all of New York 411’s listees, the user will be able to call companies directly from their listings, activate GPS mapping directly to the listing locations, and save listings as Favorites and iPhone contacts. Users may also obtain a distance search of listings from their locations. Additionally, the app provides immediate connectivity to the NY 411 Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the 411 News and Updates page and Production Tech Tips Video Page.

The NY 411 app is the companion to the LA 411 app, launched in September, 2010. Since its launch, the LA 411 app has nearly 4,000 downloads and has maintained a 3½ star rating in the iTunes app store.

NY 411 and LA 411 are the industry’s only qualified production resource. Every company, service, and individual listed in the directories has three verified professional references in film, television, or commercial production. Online, the user will find a variety of content, including stage charts, union requirements, a monthly eNewsletter and video featurettes, a Green Listings section, and an archive to webinars presented by 411 Publishing.
