Suggested Application… USGS Earth as Art Widget
I always love the USGS imagery! Now you can add a widget to your website, blog, or iGoogle page showing you some very cool imagery from the USGS – images are cycled and served to your site.
Suggested Mashups… Geospatial Art
A blog entry and map of maps from the DC area from Nick Schiller. Schiller take imagery from the USGS and other sources and creates some amazing scenes from the data.. very cool stuff and a must see! Enjoy this one
Suggested Free Data Resource… Terraserver digital orthoquad imagery tutorial
Are you one of those suckers who’s still paying for free data? Kudos to Free Geography Tools for providing an excellent tutorial on downloading orthos for free using TerraServer – see HERE.. can you imagine that people actually still buy this kind of data, as well as older, non-most-recent data from the old-school online data providers .
Suggested Blog… The Dirt… Pete Kelsey’s Blog
Are you interested in surveying, mapping, civil 3D, AutoCAD and related topics? If so then Pete’s blog is for you. Kelsey is the founder of K-tek and now holds the title of technical evangelist with Autodesk. Nice job on the blog Pete!
My Favorite Photos… Victoria Map mural
I love maps and art so when you make art out of a map I get really excited and usually pull out the camera. This wall art can be found in downtown Victoria and shows a great rendition of Vancouver Island.
