City Employs a Successful Integration between HTE and Cityworks
Sandy UT — Azteca Systems, the leading provider of GIS-centric asset maintenance management solutions, announced today the City of Naperville, IL has integrated their HTE financial system with Azteca’s Cityworks. The merging of the two systems has made it possible for Naperville to fully take advantage of the best of both systems. This integration confirms that HTE and Cityworks can be successfully deployed together, providing a fully functional and efficient data management environment.
With the help of Azteca Authorized Business Partner, Woolpert Inc., the city now leverages both systems, allowing Cityworks to extract data for labor, material and equipment costs directly from the HTE system. The process provides Cityworks users with useful data from the financial management system to create and manage work orders. As a result, city staff has expanded on their original Cityworks Call Center deployment to include Cityworks for their public works, water and wastewater divisions. Successfully interfaced with many other financial systems, this specific project further demonstrates the openness of Cityworks and ease in which it can be integrated into an agencies enterprise environment.
“The integration of HTE and Cityworks provides Naperville with the best of both worlds,” said Larry Gunderson, GIS Manager for the City of Naperville. “HTE manages the financial data while Cityworks controls the service request and maintenance process. This integration enables us to utilize Cityworks while allowing customer information, payroll and inventory data to flow easily from HTE to Cityworks. Effectively avoiding the complications of running two systems, our staff is now able to use Cityworks to manage the work order process.”
“One of the critical elements identified by the City was integrating Cityworks with their HTE system”, said Bryan Dickerson, Woolpert Inc. “As the system-of-record for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and warehouse inventory management, integration with Cityworks was critical for determining accurate maintenance costs and budgets. With Cityworks’ open, extensible architecture, and the end-users’ ability to customize Cityworks to suit their specific business procedures, this type of integration is not only possible, but easy and effective.”
“Integrating Cityworks with other enterprise business systems is a significant part of our solution strategy,” said Brian Haslam, President of Azteca Systems. “We specifically designed Cityworks to be open and easy to interface with, allowing our clients to use the systems that best meet their needs. Though many solutions tout a single product that spans the needs of a wide array of users, often is the case only one part of the system actually meets their needs while relegated to using the other parts that fall well short. Our best-of-breed strategy has enabled our customers to leverage the full extent of the better business systems and Cityworks in a seamless environment.”
