Each year the USGIF makes available a number of scholarships to elligible students. To qualify, a student must be enrolled in a related field. This year, the Foundation expands its scholarship program to include graduate and undergraduates students in a field related to geospatial intelligence, as well as to graduating high school seniors who will be pursuing an undergraduate program of study related to geospatial intelligence.
Qualifying fields of study include information technology, image processing, systems engineering, data architecture, computer sciences, etc.
Of interest to high school grads
There are 9 2005 scholarships (worth $5000) being awarded by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) for geospatial intelligence. Three of these awards go to graduating high school students who will pursue college/university degree programs related to geospatial intelligence.
The deadline to apply is July 1st 2005
For Researchers
New this year, USGIF will present an award to a university researcher to recognize research contributions aimed at promoting the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and developing a stronger community among those who apply spatial data and geoprocessing to national security objectives. This award recognizes the academic research project’s efforts to further the tradecraft of geospatial intelligence.
