ROCHESTER, NY – December 6, 2004 – Pictometry International Corp., provider of a patented information system that captures georeferenced, digital aerial oblique and orthogonal images as well as related software, announced today that its software and imagery are being deployed throughout Nashua, NH’s city government.
Agencies using the Pictometry system include the Assessors Office, Building Department, Code Enforcement, Fire Department, Fire Marshal, Economic Development, Engineering, Mayor’s Office, Planning, Public Works, Risk Management, and Zoning.
Pictometry’s industry leading software enables users to easily access up to 12 different high-resolution views of any property, building, highway, or other feature in a county. The software also enables users to obtain measurements such as distance, height, elevation, and area directly from the imagery as well as insert GIS content and other data.
“I can’t think of one city department that hasn’t benefited by its use. On average, I am deploying to six new users every week,” said Angelo Marino, chief assessor and GIS coordinator for the city.
Richard Sawyer, city planner said, “Once we began using it, the benefits were immediate. We’re using it everyday.”
Inspector/Investigator Richard Wood with the Nashua Fire Marshal’s office says, “Pictometry is a valuable tool for Public Safety personnel. It allows us to pre-plan responses as well as brief first responders in an actual emergency, giving them a solid understanding of the scene. I envision the potential uses for Pictometry will expand exponentially.”
